Description
The bristles are made from Nylon 4 which is a preferred material for toothbrush bristles according to the International Federation of Dental Hygienists. It is a BPA and phthalate free, naturally biodegradable polyamide and is widely considered as one of the most tolerable plastics from a health point of view.
Curanatura use solid moso bamboo to make their toothbrush handles. Bamboo grows naturally without using any pesticides or fertilisers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees.
Disposal: Most dental professionals recommend changing your toothbrush every 3 months. The handle is biodegradable so can be disposed of in a standard composting bin. The bristles can be recycled if properly removed with pliers/cut off with scissors, but it’s best to check with local recycling facility or council for advice on the best way to recycle these bristles depending on your area.
Packaging: The brushes are packaged in a biodegradable recycled brown paper sleeve inside a recycled kraft card box.
Company: Curanatura is a Slovakian company that first started selling bamboo toothbrushes in 2013. They have designed their toothbrush range together with a dental hygienist to offer the best possible performance, as well as strong environmental credentials.
